Simulation Exercise on cross-sectoral and cross-border collaboration
21. 6. 2023
Work Package 6 (WP6) has organised a Table-top Simulation Exercise (SIMEX). Participants worked through a fictional scenario to test countries cross-sectoral aspects regarding strategic preparedness and response capacities such as collaboration and coordination between Public Health, Law enforcement–Security and Civil Protection as well as risk communication, in case of a chemical terror attack. The SIMEX helped participant countries to identify strengths, gaps and priority actions to be taken in this field.
The SIMEX took place in Madrid on June 15. Participants representing the three relevant sectors from 12 European Join Action partners’ countries attended the event.
Several observers, including international experts from the different sectors and from the Health Security Unit (B2) at DG SANTE, contributed to the discussions. An international multi-sectoral team of evaluators, facilitators, and support team was also present.
This SIMEX has contributed to provide a baseline of the cross-sectoral coordination picture in the JA TERROR partner countries.
